Explore the well-preserved mosaics and get insights into the history of this lost city. By evening, arrive in Fes, where you’ll check into a charming riad for an overnight stay.
Dive into the cultural and spiritual heart of Morocco with a full-day guided tour of Fes, founded in 790 A.D. by Moulay Idriss II. Explore the labyrinthine streets of the old medina, visit the Jewish Quarter (Mellah), the Royal Palace, and the world-famous Chouara Tanneries. Discover the Al Quaraouiyine Mosque, the oldest university in the world. Enjoy a traditional Moroccan lunch before ending your day with a panoramic view of the medina. Overnight in the same riad.
After breakfast, depart toward Merzouga, passing through the charming Swiss-like town of Ifrane. Stop in Azrou to see the Barbary apes in the cedar forests. Continue your journey through the Middle Atlas Mountains, stopping in Midelt for lunch. Drive through the stunning Ziz Valley, reaching Erfoud and Rissani, famous for their lively markets. By evening, arrive in Merzouga, where you’ll stay overnight in a local hotel.
Today is dedicated to discovering the true essence of the Sahara Desert. Visit the village of Khamlia to experience the hypnotic rhythms of Gnawa music. Meet nomadic Berber families still living in traditional tents and enjoy a delicious Berber pizza for lunch. By afternoon, embark on a camel trek across the golden dunes of Erg Chebbi, witnessing a breathtaking Sahara sunset. Spend the night in a luxurious desert camp, enjoying Berber music, dancing, and storytelling under the starry sky.
Wake up early to witness the magical sunrise over the dunes before riding your camel back to Merzouga village. After breakfast and a refreshing shower, travel toward the Todra Gorges, Morocco’s most dramatic canyon. Enjoy a short hike through the towering cliffs before continuing to the Dades Valley, known for its majestic sandcastles and unique rock formations called “Monkey Fingers.” Check into a traditional riad for an overnight stay with dinner included.
On your final day, journey through the Valley of Roses to Ouarzazate, home to Atlas Studios, where many Hollywood movies were filmed. Explore the iconic Kasbah Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage Site, before crossing the Tizi n’Tichka Pass through the High Atlas Mountains.
