An unforgettable journey through Morocco’s breathtaking landscapes, from ancient kasbahs to the vast dunes of Erg Chegaga.
Your adventure begins in the vibrant city of Marrakech. We set off towards the majestic High Atlas Mountains, crossing the scenic Tizi-n-Tichka Pass (2,260m). Our first stop is the Kasbah of Telouet, once the stronghold of the Pasha of Marrakech.
Following a picturesque drive through the Ounila Valley, we reach the legendary Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO-listed ksar that has served as the backdrop for many Hollywood films. After exploring its winding alleys, we continue to Ouarzazate, the gateway to the desert, where we spend the night in a charming guesthouse.
After breakfast, we embark on a journey through the lush Draa Valley, dotted with ancient kasbahs and vast palm groves. We make a cultural stop in Tamgroute, where you can visit a traditional pottery workshop and an ancient Koranic library.
By midday, we arrive in M’hamid, the last village before the great Sahara. After a leisurely lunch, we swap the road for sand tracks, heading towards the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga. As the sun begins to set, you’ll embark on a camel ride through the golden dunes before settling into our authentic desert camp. Enjoy a traditional dinner under a star-lit sky, followed by live Berber music around the campfire.
Wake up to a breathtaking sunrise over the dunes, followed by a leisurely breakfast. Today, we dedicate the day to fully immersing in the desert experience. We explore the sacred oasis, enjoy a picnic in the wild, and return for an afternoon of relaxation at the camp.
For the adventurous, sandboarding down the dunes is an option, or simply take in the serene silence of the desert. End the day with another spectacular sunset, dinner, and a magical evening under the stars.
After a final sunrise over the dunes, we set off towards Lake Iriki, a dry salt flat that once held water and is now an otherworldly expanse of cracked earth. Crossing the rugged Hamada (rock desert), we reach Foum Z’guid, where civilization slowly reappears.
We stop in Taznakht, a town famous for its Berber carpets, before completing our journey back to Marrakech, arriving in the late afternoon.
This tour is available as both a private and small group experience. Private tours allow for more flexibility, while group tours offer a social and cost-effective option.
Our standard desert camp provides comfortable tents with beds, blankets, and shared bathroom facilities. If you prefer a luxury camp with private en-suite tents, we can arrange an upgrade.
Not at all! Camel rides are guided and suitable for all levels, including beginners.
We recommend bringing:
Comfortable clothing and walking shoes
Sunglasses, sunscreen, and a hat
A warm jacket for chilly desert nights
A scarf or shawl to protect against wind and sand
Absolutely! We can cater to vegetarian, vegan, or special dietary needs. Please let us know in advance.
Spring (March-May) and autumn (September-November) offer the best weather conditions. Summers can be hot, while winters can be quite cold at night.
There is no Wi-Fi in the desert camp, but mobile networks may work in some areas. We encourage you to embrace the digital detox and enjoy the stunning natural surroundings!
