This tour promises to be an unforgettable adventure, offering a unique experience in the heart of Morocco’s stunning desert landscapes, all in the lap of luxury.
Your adventure begins in the morning with a pick-up from your hotel or Riad. We set off on a scenic drive through the Tizi-n-Tichka pass, reaching Telouet, the ancestral home of the famous Pasha Glaoui. After a delightful lunch, we continue along the Ounila Valley, passing through Berber villages before reaching Tamdakhte Kasbah and the stunning Ait Ben Haddou, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Here, you’ll have time for a photo session and to explore the sloping streets of this ancient Ksar. Afterward, we head to Ouarzazate, known as the “Hollywood of Morocco,” for an overnight stay at a charming guest house, including dinner and breakfast.
We depart from Ouarzazate at 8:00 AM in a comfortable 4x4 vehicle, heading toward Zagora through the magnificent Draa Valley. The route takes us through scenic palm groves, where lush gardens and small, charming Berber villages can be seen hidden amongst the greenery. We then stop in Zagora and visit the pottery workshops in Tamgroute, with an optional tour of the Koranic Library for those interested in ancient manuscripts.
As we continue, the landscape gradually transforms into desert terrain, leading us to M’hamid, where we enjoy a traditional lunch in the bivouac amidst the first sand dunes. In the afternoon, we set off toward the Erg Chegaga dunes, the largest in the region, for a mesmerizing sunset from the summit of the highest dune. Evening dinner and overnight stay at the luxurious bivouac lodge in Chegaga.
After a delicious breakfast, we depart in the 4x4 to explore the majestic dunes of Erg Chegaga, with a picnic lunch set in the heart of the desert. The vastness and beauty of the sand dunes are best experienced as you immerse yourself in the endless desert landscape. We return to the bivouac for a relaxing afternoon, followed by a camel ride for an unforgettable sunset over the dunes. The evening will be filled with entertainment under the stars at the luxurious bivouac lodge.
After breakfast, we embark on the journey back to Marrakech, traveling across the vast dried lake bed of Iriki, with stunning panoramic views of packed sand. We then follow a track through the Hamada (stone desert) towards Foum Z’guid and continue our journey to Taznakht, known for its vibrant Berber carpets. After a delightful lunch, we drive along the picturesque Tichka Pass back to Marrakech, where we’ll arrive in the late afternoon, completing this unforgettable luxury desert adventure.
The price covers full-board accommodation, including stays in a guest house and a luxury bivouac. You’ll also have 4x4 transport with a driver throughout the tour, site visits, and tourist taxes.
